Requiem For My Old Comfy Chair

Over 40 years ago I bought a big comfy chair from a little old lady for $20.

It moved with me every time I moved. In the process it got more and more tattered but it was expensive to reupholster and I always decided the money would be better spent on my travel addiction.
I did a couple of rough sketches of it for a children’s book. It was still in its prime here.rough illustration of my old comfy chair for a children's bookThe pillow fabric shredded and the foam stuffing turned to dust so that was replaced with an old pillow from somewhere else. A couple of Mexican blankets were plopped over the wreckage  The poor old chair spent its last days in a glassed-in porch surrounded by chile pepper lights and tropical plants. It remained extraordinarily comfy until the end.my old comfy chair spent its last days in a glassed-in porch surrounded by chile pepper lightsThis is the end, my friend. Nobody will take it now, even if it’s free. So sad…The end of the old comfy chairMore of Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Furniture.
