Witch Hazel with Two Different Point and Shoot Cameras

For January’s ‘plant of the month’ I have chosen to photograph the spiky yellow Witch Hazel flowers with two different Point n’ Shoot cameras.

Waterproof Nikon Coolpix AW130, with 5x zoom, and not much control. Focusing is at times a problem, especially if the focal image is softer and there are hard-edged items like leaves in the background. In this case it always focuses on the leaves and one has to do a lot of contortionist shooting positions to try for a road or sky background. But when it focusses it really works!Yellow Witch Hazel FlowersYellow Witch Hazel FlowersYellow Witch Hazel FlowersYellow Witch Hazel Flowers
