Whiffen Spit on Vancouver Island is more of a mood than a place making it hard to describe it.
The spit is near Sooke on Vancouver Island on the West Coast of Canada.
Some watercolour sketches I did of it on January 1, 2000, the first day of the new millennium. It was stormy with this amazing light which I described as dark clouds edged with white gold light, a glowing line of light on the horizon and dark unfriendly waters. From September 2017, a somewhat lazier me ran my autumn photos through the photo app Waterlogue.
This convoluted, sand-blasted driftwood is reworked in Sketchguru.
Whiffen Spit as it actually appears, on my Travel Blog.
