I love these strange little lilies – I started with one and now have a dozen!
I used to stuff them under the deck for the winter, a place that is dry, dark and often cold. I’ve just moved to an apartment and don’t know where I’m going to put them now – maybe in my storage locker? (One year later, sadly they did not survive the winter.)
In a nearby park. Macro of the flowers. Sometimes the leaves are spotted. White flowered Pineapple Lilies in a conservatory in the Dublin Botanical Garden. Green flowers with burgundy edges and seed pods pushing their way out of the flower centres.Pineapple lily Eucomis bicolor : This label shows how it got the ‘pineapple’ in its name.
