These two images of rocks from Ireland are from two different places; the first is from Galley Head which had a mass of rocks I want to paint and the second is fractured shale from the Cliffs of Moher, another place I’m dying to paint.
Uncropped image from the ‘collage’ above. I love the subtle greens and teeny splashes of rusty tones that sneak in here and there amidst all the grey.
Even more colour seeping in with some areas of purple.
Triangle of rusty slate.
Full-on colour.
Long view of a pale-green jagged undercut edge at the Cliffs of Moher.
Close-up view of the same jagged edge taken standing way too close to it.
