Let’s face it, Agaves are not particularly delicate-looking plants.
But despite their solid fleshy forms and often serrated edges, their colours are soft and delicate.Which brings me to this Agave azul (blue Agave) in Zihuatanejo. It is one of the few without any thorns and perhaps, because of this, my little camera had trouble focusing. It also had problems with deciding the colour range, and as a result the colour was presented as less earthy and more of an ethereal blue.
The most delicate of all, like the skirts of silken evening gowns swirling across the dance floor.

That’s quite perceptive of you. The delicate properties of the agaves.. Love it! (And the blue images are surreally amazing) 🙂
the challenge was for delicate ‘colours’, and my first attempt also featured delicate shapes, but ultimately, nothing was as delicately coloured as those fleshy agaves…
They are so fine. Texture, colour – all exquisite. Sometimes a little creative input from the camera is welcome. 🙂
Yes, my camera sometimes has a mind of its own, especially if I don’t fiddle with the settings….
I love those sort of cameras.
Wow. Excellent photos. Delicate!
Lovely analogy and a gorgeous study Eluzabeth
Hard to imagine such a solid-looking plant looking as if it could just float away.
Exquisite! Wow, Elizabeth! And the colours are so delicate, never thought of Agave in this sense. An eyeopener – thank you.
The blue agaves are quite a beautiful colour but this one looks more like a painting than a photo.
It does!
The best take on this challenge I’ve seen yet! – Absolutely stunning.
I have to thank my little camera for having a mind of its own on this one!
